No title (2019)
Laura Tuccan. Galvanized steel wire sculpture, 1,8in x 39,4in x 19,6in.
"No title" was one of the first art works that I created and developed in 2019 as a student of Visual Arts at @belasartes. Made entirely of galvanized steel wire, the work is composed of an organic, fluid structure that contrasts material and form. Galvanized steel is a material obtained from natural compounds manipulated by human interference and used intensively in numerous applications for anthropological purposes such as machinery, tools, construction. In this art work, the material is subverted to its primitive origin through form. Several interwoven wires give origin to an abstract structure that twists on itself and expands its ramifications ahead. During all these years, the work presented itself to me with different meanings at different times, therefore, the choice of the name "No title" is due to the possibility of also awakening different meanings in the public based on what inhabits the conscious and subconscious mind of the observer in their first contact with the art work.
